Andrology & Urology
This department continues to be the flagship of the Institution. From modest beginnings in April, 1990 there has been tremendous strides in the department. It is one of the busiest and highly rated departments of urology in the country. Ten Urology postgraduates have been trained from the institute and are now leading practitioners in different corners of India.
The department is blessed with full time committed staff and state of the art equipments. We have the best endoscopic equipments including those needed to handle neonates. Laparoscopy Urology is well established. Urinary stones are routinely dealt by keyhole surgery and shock wave lithotripsy. The Dornier Lithotriptor has helped to disintegrate stones not seen on conventional Xrays using Ultrasound focalisation. Emphasis has been on short hospital stay and conversion into day care procedures.
