Diabetes is a chronic disease in which the human body does not make, or does not properly use, insulin. This is caused by the malfunctioning of an organ called Pancreas. Insulin is the hormone that helps your body use the energy from sugar, starches and other foods. The result is that your body doesn't get the energy it needs, and unmetabolized sugar (glucose), builds up in your blood causing damage to the body and its systems.
More than 5% of Indian population suffers from Diabetes mellitus, many not aware that they are Diabetic.
If you are experiencing one or more symptoms associated with diabetes, immediately consult a healthcare professional at MMHRC for a comprehensive Diabetes Check-up Plan.
