Free Meals Scheme

The Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre (MMHRC) is providing free food to poor and cancer patients, and their attending family members since 1991. The charitable scheme was first introduced by the generosity of our hospital staff to ensure patients had nutritionally balanced food which is needed for a body’s healing. Our staff also realized that poorer patients would often fend off medical treatment because of the difficulty in arranging meals for the sick and their attendees.

We have provided thousands and thousands meals so far through the generosity of donors like you. Donors wishing to participate in this program can select a commemorative occasion such as a birthday, wedding anniversary, or death anniversary and we will arrange the food distribution.

The hospital’s kitchen carefully prepares food with the guidance of dietary department to provide hygienic and nutritious food to poor cancer patients. The food is delivered by the donor on the special day. In case a donor is not able to attend, we will distribute the meals in your honor.

How can you get involved?

• You can make a donation to provide food on your special occasion and see the heartfelt thankfulness from the patients. You can choose whether you want to make a life time donation, a donation for five years, one day, or another period of your choice 
• You can offer food to the poor cancer patients on your auspicious day, such as birthday, wedding anniversary or commemorate in memory of a near and loved one

How we will acknowledge your donation:

You will be invited to distribute food on your preferred day

You will receive photos taken during the food distribution

You will receive a receipt and thank you letter from our hospital

You will be invited on the day of the “Donors Meet”

Your contribution will be listed on our “Charity Progress Report”

Decide the following:

You’ll become a lift time donor: INR. 10,000/- (Food to the patients provided every year on your desired date)

You’ll offer one day meals for FIVE years: INR. 5,000/- (Food provided for five years on your desired date)

You’ll offer a day meals in A YEAR: INR. 1,500/- (Food provided one day on your desired date)

You donate now only: (Your desired amount is exclusively used for Free Food Scheme)

Please send your Cheques or Demand Drafts, payable to "S.R.Trust ", to the following address along with your address and details of “date and occasion”-food to be served. Or you download ‘Donation Form’ and send it to:
